Sandy Landry
Sandy Landry, a New Orleans native who has
performed on both the north and south shores of
Lake Pontchartrain, has embraced Lafayette as her
new home.  Sandy’s last performance, as Ethel
Banks in “Barefoot in the Park”, won her the Alvin
Award for Best Supporting Actress at Playmakers
Theatre in Covington, where she also appeared as
Mama Rose in “Gypsy”.  Some of her other favorite
leading roles were in “Mame”, “The Matchmaker”,
“Forty Carats” and “Cactus Flower”.  She has
reprised the role of Sister Robert Ann in
“Nunsense”, “Nuncrackers” and “Meshuggah-
Nuns”.  She has also appeared in “South Pacific” at
Tulane Summer Lyric.  Other roles included “Guys
and Dolls”, “Cabaret”, “Kiss Me, Kate”, “Sabrina”,
“Everything I Needed to Know I Learned in
Kindergarten”, “Habeas Corpus” and “Not Now,
Darling”.  Sandy is married to Mitch Landry, her
leading man in “Forty Carats”, and in her life.
