Laura Blum has taught choral music in public schools for 25 years. She has privately taught theatre arts, guitar, voice, piano, woodwinds and Kindermusik for over 30 years. She has directed church choirs since 1970. She holds a bachelors as well as a masters of arts degree in music performance from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. One of the founding members of Abbeville’s Abbey Players, she has performed major roles, both as an actress as well as a singer, since 1972. A director of adult musicals as well as children’s theatre, she is the owner of Firelight Music. As a playwright she writes book, lyrics and music for children's plays.
Ray Blum has been on stage in one form or another for over 40 years. He has appeared in plays and movies locally, in the New Orleans area as well as in New York. In addition to being a retired U.S. Army Captain, he has been a certified theatre and English teacher since 1972. A graduate of Loyola University and Connecticut State University, he writes the column Perform! for the Lafayette Daily Advertiser and appears regularly as an entertainment commentator on KLFY TV’s Passe Partout. He is currently writing a book about the history of community theatre in Acadiana.
